Mumbai Crime Branch, Unit 9 arrested a drug peddler Usman Sheikh who used to supply drugs to struggling Bollywood actors and TV actors

Mumbai : While the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) have arrested major drug suppliers to Bollywood in the ongoing Sushant Singh death case probe, the Mumbai City Crime Branch, Unit 9, have arrested a 40-year-old drug peddler, identified as Usman Sheikh who used to supply drugs to struggling Bollywood actors and TV actors.

The accused Usman Ali Shaikh and his two employees would wear the Zomato delivery boy’s uniform to evade any police nakabandi or police checking while they went to deliver the drugs to various clients.

Acting on the specific tip off, the crime branch unit 9 led by police inspector Nandkumar Gopale and Sanjeev Gawde laid a trap at New link road at Oshiwara and detained Usman Shaikh.

His personal search resulted in the recovery of 139 grams of mephedrone or MD, synthetic drug from his possession. On examination of contraband with the Narcotic test kits, it was confirmed that the contraband was drugs falling under the NDPS Act.
Police have also seized his bike, on which he used to move and deliver the drugs to several residents of Lokhandwala and Versova.

Deputy commissioner of police (Crime) Akbar Pathan states that though Usman has been indulging in drug peddling for past one year, he has been arrested for the first time. Police have also detained his two employees, who are likely to be made witnesses as both of them used to work on fixed salary.

lice have also stumbled upon the contact list of Shaikh, as most of the clients are TV actors and struggling stars.

He used to procure drugs for anywhere from Rs 600 to 800 from Wadi Bunder in Dongri and sell at Rs 1600 to 1800 per gram to various clients.
