Launch of the iLEAD Women’s Leadership Initiative
Ms. Poonam Mahajan, Member of Parliament and National President of BJYM launched a women’s leadership initiative ‘iLEAD’ at the India Habitat Center today. At an event attended by over a 100 women professionals and leaders from corporate, law, art, music, public policy and cinema, Ms. Mahajan was nominated as the first ‘iLEAD ambassador for change’.
Conceptualized by Neha Joshi, Aditi Chaturvedi and Priya Sharma, three young women and youth leaders from Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkahand respectively, iLEAD is going to be platform to connect women leaders from various professions to connect with women from smaller cities and towns who are aspiring to be like them. According to this team ilead will create a network of mentors who will commit to the development of future leaders, imparting them the necessary skills, Counseling and emotional support.
The idea is to provide a 360 degree platform of development where one can reach rout to a mentor in the network - understand the challenges and seek guidance - whether professional or person. And through constant dialogues, higher levels of engagement, mentorship ,teamwork and application of technology and tools we will make this relationship more meaningful.
Also present on the occasion were Smita Barooah, mental health specialist and blogger, Amrita Bhinder, tax lawyer and influencer, Neharika Yadav the only woman fast biker in India and Aarti Tikoo Singh, Asst editor times of India.
Poonam Mahajan congratulated the organisers for taking up this initiative and encouraged them to take it to all parts of the country. She pledged her support for the initiative and agreed to become a mentor too.
